The disposal sites accept cash, check, debit cards, Visa and Mastercard
for payment. Please make sure you bring proper identification with you!
The recycling drop-off area will accept: All three colors of glass bottles and jars/clear, green, and brown (please rinse, labels okay); Code 1 plastic bottles and jars (such as pop bottles)- rinsed; Code 2 plastic bottles and jars (such as milk jugs and bleach bottles)- rinsed; aluminum cans (rinsed); tin cans (please rinse and remove labels); newspapers; phone books; corrugated cardboard & brown bags; magazines and scrap metals. The above paper products need to be kept clean and dry to be recyclable. - No Charge
Household Hazardous Waste includes anything that would be considered dangerous or hazardous such as paint thinners, pesticides, oven cleaners, and batteries as well as many other items. Any item you use in your home that has a warning on the label probably is a household hazardous waste. The waste needs to be in containers that are 5 gallons or less. Use the original container with the label intact whenever possible. - No Charge
Compostable material includes leaves, grass clippings, bark, weeds, twigs, pine needles, pine cones, limbs not more than 6’ long and 3” in diameter, and sod not more than 3” thick (shake off all rocks and extra soil). Meat, poultry, fish, beans, dairy products (non-liquid), fruit, vegetables, breads, grains, pastas, eggshells, nutshells, coffee grounds, tea bags, leftovers, greasy pizza delivery boxes, coffee filters, paper towels and napkins, paper egg cartons, paper berry cartons, uncoated (non-shiny) paper plates, uncoated paper cups, and paper grocery bags containing food scraps. WHEN IN DOUBT, LEAVE IT OUT! Compostable material is accepted year-round at the disposal facilities.
Garbage Items that do not fit in any of the above categories (Recyclables, Household Hazardous Waste, or Compostable) will be accepted as garbage. If items are mixed, such as yard waste in the same load with recyclables, they must be separated before disposal or disposed of as garbage. The rate for residential disposal is $98.00 per ton at the WTE facility or Transfer stations. The rate if you are a commercial hauler is $98.00 at the WTE and $103.00 at the Transfer stations. If you have yard waste and garbage in the same load you must go through the line twice to be charged the two different rates.
